James Patterson is the world's bestselling author. He has donated more than one million books to students and soldiers, as well as millions of dollars to independent bookstores and school libraries. He lives in Florida with his family.
Good As usual another good read. Never put down. It's like being watching. Never figure out the ending. What's next? ThrillerSaved from mediocrity, by the collaboration... I used to be a champion of James Patterson but in recent years he’s become formulaic, imho. “The Inn”, because it has the good fortune of being elevated by the stylings of Candice Fox, is a far more enjoyable read. The title of this book is also the primary setting and home to a ragtag bunch of long term residents that have melded into an unusual, but stalwart family. Faced with a threat from a drug dealer, this band of misfits rally together to do whatever is necessary to protect and serve their retired officer, now Inn owner.Candice Fox is a great developer of characters so these folks will work their ways into your heart. They are the epitome of quirky and take actions that gave me great pause on more than a few occasions. They also have really rough language including f-bombs, Divine epithets and other assorted expletives. The language is not gratuitous but it is blue. The action is Patterson doing his thing and he does it well; mystery with a side of adventure and a tiny touch of romance. Yes, please!“The Inn” is written by professional authors and edited by the same. This is obvious from the first page and when the last page is turned, or clicked, a few short hours later, it seems unfathomable that you’ve been to New England and back on this wild adventure and it’s still the same day or two later 📚Predictable but entertaining Bill is a widower and an inn keeper in Gloucester, MA. He is having trouble adjusting to the loss of his wife and not happy about having to run the inn. When he learns that drugs have arrived in his little town, he decides to fight the people behind the drugs. Patterson's trademark short chapters and lots of action are evident here, and many different characters keep the predictable but entertaining story moving.
